My angels are individually sculpted by hand, painted and clothed in the tradition of the Neopolitan creche figures created in Italy during the late-Baroque period. Each piece is unique. Since 1980, I have created more than 130 of these figures.
In 1990, I was hired as a contractor to the Metropolitan Museum in New York, to assist with the installation of "The Angel Tree". Working with Linn Howard, I was afforded a rare first-hand glimpse of the extraordinary collection of original pieces at the museum, donated by Linn's mother, Loretta Hines Howard. For this experience and its contribution to my work, I will always be grateful.
